Plunder & Pillage with Pirates in St. Augustine
The St. Augustine Pirate Museum was a great place to spend a rainy morning. It is a small yet highly interactive and highly engaging museum that suits both kids and adults.
Hunter is a major pirate fan and was bouncing from here to there and back through the whole thing. They give the kids a treasure map to fill out which helps keep them focused and extends the learning.
As always, the big hits were the weapons, with Hunter lecturing both Tim and I on what all the different styles and types of weapons were and who used what when. They have an interactive cannon loader that comes with a large “BOOM” sound that makes everyone happy!
At the end of the museum, you move from “FACT” to “FANTASY” and they show movie memorabilia from pirate movies over the years…
